"Closed Windows" is a story of abuse and atrocities against women and women's opposition due to the ego and arrogance of men in a male dominated society that has been going on for centuries. The story runs parallel between a young girl, granddaughter and her old grandmother. Fifty years ago the illiterate grandmother suffered the same humiliation and disdain as her highly educated granddaughter. The only difference is, where the grandmother had no option but to bear it, the granddaughter was given a mother. Despite the displeasure of the father, she has found shelter in that house. But in both the circumstances, the woman, ie grandmother and granddaughter, revolted against the tyranny. The grandmother opposed the immoral actions of the husband while living in the house, while the granddaughter took care of her Left the husband's house for this reason. Since grandmother passed through this phase fifty years ago, she understands the pain of the granddaughter, and empowers her morally and gives her the courage to stick to her decision to break up with her husband. She does not want her granddaughter to suffer the humiliation and disdain she faced.
