 Saturday was a nightmare: the stock of the firm's goods was taken: the big seths were being washed.  Taking advantage of his absence, Nana Seth had introduced a rule to observe Sunday holiday, which he came to know only when he returned from the country.  Nana Seth himself was reprimanded a lot but both were conciliatory, understanding the reputation of the firm.  The irony was that Nana Sethe had given Sunday leave to the servants in writing and made Mehta look like a Mandal — club.  Instead of suddenly attacking all of them, the big seth was determined to bring back the Sundays by walking in front of the Mehta and demand the return of only one Amaso.
